ASTI has signed an MoU with Learning Orchard Sdn. Bhd for a new initiative called Project ‘ALI’ (Advance Learning Initiative) which aims to introduce and invigorate online learning among young people in Malaysia. The project aims to introduce a specifically designed E-Learning portal called EDUKATE (KATE is an acronym for Knowledge Augmented by Technology in Education) to get Malaysian students to successfully use the internet as an effective tool in their education.
ASTI signed a MoU with Vusisizwe Independent School from South Africa to collaborate and leverage on each other’s networks and assets to market our services and to jointly develop programmes and educational products that will enhance the educational environment. The collaboration are particularly in 3 projects that ASTI conducts, which are Science Fair for Young Children (SFYC), ASTI Leap Challenge (ALC) and Young Inventors Challenge (YIC). The MoU was signed at the South African High Commission office in Kuala Lumpur.
ASTI signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER) under the MIER Crouching Tiger Project to jointly work on IR4.0 in Education. The MoU was signed at a press conference organised by MIER at Malaysian Institute of Economic Research Office, Kuala Lumpur on 1st October 2019. We plan to jointly study the effect of I.R. 4.0 in Education.
ASTI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Perak Business Exchange Council (PEBEC) Berhad in a joint initiative to start science and technology education projects and entrepreneurship training in Perak.
ASTI also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Direct English International Language Centre (Melewar Learning Resources Sdn Bhd) to work in synergy in promoting the use of the English language as the language of Science, Technology and Innovation, not only to all ASTI stakeholders but also to ASTI’s network of communities.
The Association of Science, Technology & Innovation (ASTI) and Free Malaysia Today (FMT) formed an alliance to deploy a strategic collaboration in support of Malaysia’s education sector. ASTI and FMT formed this partnership since both organisations share a vision in collaborative guidance to achieve a fair and equitable education opportunities for all.
As technology and information access changes the way teaching and learning takes place, ‘collaborative guidance’ is a crucial requirement. Disruptive technology and the sudden shock of the pandemic has impacted educational theories and practices that require creativity in reworking methodologies for actual impact. This can only be done with the community’s awareness, input and dedication for educational excellence. Therein lies the urgent need for more effective and widespread collaborative guidance, one that can take Malaysia forward.
FMT, an independent, bilingual (English and Bahasa Malaysia) news portal covering Malaysian current affairs with a monthly visit of almost 12 million, supports the efforts of any parties wishing to improve and grow awareness in education through the generation, dissemination and exchange of information and ideas. The two organisations seek to highlight and address educational issues in the country by creating a unique platform for Malaysians to engage in the development of Malaysia’s pedagogical issues.
ASTI and the Project Management Institute Malaysia Chapter (PMIMY) signed an MoU at Hotel Sentral Kuala Lumpur on 27 June 2023, to strengthen their relationship and collaborate on initiatives to introduce project management principles to students. The partnership aims to enhance students’ understanding of project management and foster knowledge exchange between the two organizations.
In an important partnership aimed at enriching the educational experience for young learners, the Association of Science, Technology & Innovation (ASTI) and Picture News United Kingdom have come together and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the prestigious Lotus Hall, YMCA Brickfield.
The event commenced with an engaging lecture by Ms. Katie Harrison, the esteemed founder of Picture News, and a former teacher and education consultant. Targeted at Primary School Educators, the lecture titled “Using the News to Inspire Young Minds!” offered a plethora of innovative and enjoyable ideas to effectively integrate news content into classroom teaching. Educators gained valuable insights into selecting relevant news content and using images from current events to bring the classroom lessons to life.
Following the inspiring lecture, the MoU signing ceremony formalized the collaboration between Ms. Katie Harrison and Dr. Mohamed Yunus Yasin, K.M.N, the Founding President of ASTI. The primary objective of this MoU is to leverage each other’s networks and resources, jointly developing educational programs and products, and enhancing the overall educational environment for young people.
The event continued with a specialized workshop conducted for Secondary School Educators focusing on “Using Picture News with Lower Secondary.” Ms. Katie Harrison provided an in-depth overview of Picture News, a highly valuable weekly news-based discussion resource. Educators were showed the numerous benefits of incorporating news in education, including supporting debating skills, nurturing critical thinking, and fostering empathy among students. Real-life case studies and examples from the UK were shared to provide practical insights for teachers in classroom.
As a testament to their dedication to news education, ASTI and Picture News announced their decision to offer free 1 year Picture News subscriptions to up to 10 schools, as part of a pilot program. This initiative aims to provide wider access to valuable international news resources and elevate the quality of education in participating schools.
