Young Inventors Challenge 2024

Theme: “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”

Introduction

The Young Inventors Challenge 2024 is ASTI’s Invention/Innovation competition which aims to encourage secondary school students aged 13 – 17 to cooperate as a team (2-5 students) to find innovative solutions to current day problems. YIC 2024 will be conducted as a physical event where 100 shortlisted team will be exhibiting their invention at a grand finale event.

By participating in YIC, the participants would develop creative, critical and problem-solving skills. YIC hopes to develop future inventors who will be the positive change makers of tomorrow.

Shortlisted Teams

Dear YIC 2024 Teams,

Based on request, we recently conducted a survey among the 102 shortlisted teams to understand their preference for physical or online participation in the YIC 2024 Final Competition. Please find the responses below.

Given that majority of teams chose the Online Participation option, the YIC 2024 Working Group Committee has decided to hold the YIC 2024 Final Competition online.

Consequently, we have increased the number of shortlisted teams by an additional 76 teams (please see the new shortlisted teams list in Appendix 1). Based on the proposal, the 178 teams that were selected is based on a cut off marks of 38/50 and above. All 178 shortlisted teams are now required to submit their Invention Pitch Video and Project Report.
