ASTI’s main role will be to undertake projects that contribute towards the development of science, technology and innovation. ASTI will also provide encouragement and support to the younger generation – students in particular – through a variety of activities that are able to develop and help creativity, invention and innovation in science and technology.
In order to achieve this ASTI will seek funds, write proposals, advise on tendered proposals and generally oversee any project that it recommends and /or funds.
ASTI may or may not directly run any projects. However, all projects will be considered an entity of its own and will have its own working committee and organizing committee. ASTI will be the secretariat for all projects recommended for implementation by ASTI.
Individual members of the ASTI committee will be assigned specific tasks depending on the needs of either ASTI or its projects. At least one ASTI Committee member will be in any project ‘working committee’ set up.
The ASTI committee will at all times give its total support to the project working committee of any approved project. This could be in the form of technical support, financial support, administrative support, background or frontline support. They will also when called upon be the voice of any project undertaken whenever it is deemed necessary for the betterment of the program and ASTI.
ASTI will prepare annual reports to be given to all sponsors within 3 months of its AGM and also use these reports for seeking further funding and sponsorship.
The committee member assigned this task will ensure that the project working committee of each project prepares a complete report to be presented to ASTI, who will then present it to all stakeholders.
